EXPERIENCE
Greenacres Garden Centre, Stapleton — Sales Assistant
MAY 2017 - DEC 2017
Originally supposed to be a summer job, I ended up working at the garden centre for over half a year.
I was tasked with operating the garden centre’s main till, caring for the plants, organising the clothing areas and making sure the customers were okay if they needed any help.
As well as working in the garden centre, I would also help the attached café when needed. This involved making drinks, taking food to tables and cleaning tables and the café after close.

The Swan Pub and Restaurant, Newbold Verdon — Waitress and bartender
DEC 2017 - JULY 2018
I initially started working at The Swan on Sundays. After I had gained the trust of the pub owners I was asked to work part time “front of house” as a waitress and bartender.
I gained valuable team skills while working at the pub and restaurant as well as building up my confidence with talking to customers.
I was good at working under pressure due to pub events and the business of the restaurant on weekends.

Dobbies Garden Centre, Stapleton — Restaurant Customer Advisor
MAY 2019 - 5TH FEB 2022
I worked in the restaurant at Dobbies Stapleton garden centre as a customer advisor. My job was to look after customers needs by providing them with food and drinks as well as making sure the restaurant is clean and organised.
I was tasked with many jobs in the restaurant. I usually worked behind the hot food counter serving food to customers or behind the drinks counter where I made drinks for the customers and used the tills for their payments.
Due to being a part of a large team of staff I developed valuable team work skills and I am much more confident with my public speaking and communication skills. I have also developed organisation skills as well as keeping a level head during busy periods at my workplace.
My boss trusted me to help him with tech problems he has had as I like to believe that I am quite tech savvy. I am a very fast learner with new till systems, we recently had new tills fitted and I managed to learn how to use these in under an hour.
Next Plc, Enderby - Trainee Developer (Store Technology)
8TH FEB 2022 - 1ST APRIL 2023
I worked as a trainee developer in the Store Technology team at Next Plc. My role in my team was to implement new features, fix bugs and investigate new changes for the projects my sub team was working on. During my time at Next I have vastly expanded my knowledge of different programming languages (Xamarin, SQL, C#, JavaScript) and have learnt to use many different pieces of software (TFS, Postman, IIS, SQL management Studio etc.).
Being a part of this team has taught me valuable lessons in communication and teamwork as well as organisational skills and building up my confidence using unknown software and languages.

ALTERNATIVE EXPERIENCE
Pyramid Excavation, Visoko, Bosnia and Herzegovina
AUGUST 2015, 2 WEEKS
I spent 2 weeks in the small village of Visoko in Bosnia and Herzegovina excavating a pyramid that had been recently discovered. This experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity where I met people from all over the world who shared a mutual love and appreciation for history and the discovery of new ancient monuments. The Pyramid of The Sun was discovered by Dr Osmanagich in 2005 and has been being excavated since this date.
EDUCATION
The Market Bosworth School, Market Bosworth — SECONDARY SCHOOL/ GCSE’S
SEPTEMBER 2011 - AUGUST 2016
I spent 6 years at the Market Bosworth School where I learnt my secondary education. I was also a part of their first ever year of GCSE’s where I achieved B’s across the board.
Bosworth Academy, Desford — COLLEGE AS/A-LEVELS
SEPT 2016 - AUGUST 2018
I spent 2 years at Bosworth Academy where I studied AS-Level Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Computing. In my second year I studied A-Level Physics and Computing and took part in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). The extended project qualification was a written report of our choosing as well as a 20 minute presentation about the report. I did my report on “What Is Affecting Women Joining STEM Careers?”. I achieved 2 D’s in Physics and Computing and a B in the Extended Project Qualification.
The college also held a Entrepreneur day where they tasked each of the tutor groups in their final year of college to create a business which managed a rock band and to organise marketing, funding, tour dates etc. I was a part of the marketing team in which we designed all POS and merchandise for the fake rock band. Our tutor group won the day and this was due to extra points awarded due to the expert marketing and funding teams in the “business”.
De Montfort University, Leicester — Computer Games Programming BSc(Hons)
Grading Achieved: First Class
OCTOBER 2018 - AUGUST 2021
I have just finished studying Computer Games Programming BSc (Hons) at De Montfort University and have been able to achieve a first class degree with honours. Over the past 3 years I have learnt how to program with C++ and using C# in Unity. I have learnt valuable life skills in money management, public speaking and organisation as well as the specific work skills I would need to get into the Gaming Industry.
As a part of my degree I was asked to choose from a selection of optional modules for my final year to study. I decided to do Advanced Shader Programming and Mobile Robotics. As a part of the Mobile Robotics module I had to learn a small amount of LUA as the software made use of the LUA programming language to simulate the robot’s behaviours.
In Advanced Shader Programming I was tasked with rendering a Terrain. I made use of height maps and distance dependent tessellation to change the level of detail in the terrain. I also implemented shadow mapping using depth buffers and added fog to hide the lower detailed terrain that is further array from the view position.
